Psi*Run Playtest

I did a playtest of Psi*Run about a week ago and it went alright.

Only had two characters, which created a strange issue with the dice rolling, but we were able to work around it. I believe that three to five would make the game flow better. However, we were able to miraculously wrap the story up into a nice mystery plot.

Two big issues came up. The first was that one player repeatedly either didn't have the correct dice or chose not to use the correct dice for the Reveal category on the Risk sheet so that Player only answered one question. The second was that for almost the entire game the Chasers were very far behind the Runners that they were never a direct threat to the Runners. Roleplaying helped to bypass this along with other non-Chaser things that I created on the fly. However, I have created a house rule to handle this now: Every scene that doesn't involve rolling to see what happens the Chasers automatically advance to their next Scene. I believe that this will help if/when running at a convention with a time limit.

Games on Demand at Gamicon 2.5

This was written by Jimmy S., Nov. 18, 2013

I took Games on Demand to Gamicon 2.5 this weekend. Attendance was a little light but I did get to run Dungeon World for a group of 6. Overall I think it went well. I plan on running the same scenario for future conventions. It sounds like the game is gaining in popularity and is a great introduction to independent games for D&D and Pathfinder players.

Prepping for Gamicon, 2014

It's that time again. Time to get the games dusted off and spread the love for the lesser-known games at Gamicon in Iowa City.
